Dr. Karen Sherman; Owner of Oak View Animal Clinic. Dr. Sherman was raised in Pineville, MO and received her Animal Science Degree at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine. She has lived in Pea Ridge since 1990 and has a Great Dane named Shadee, an Irish Wolfhound named Lenny, a cat named P.M. and beef cattle. Along with managing the business, Dr. Sherman is active in many local organizations, veterinary organizations, and serves on the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association Board. Her hobbies include swimming, walking her dogs, and helping people with personal needs.
Dr. Brandi Whittemore; Full time staff Veterinarian. Dr. Brandi was raised on a small farm, in Clifty, AR, with beef cattle and horses. She earned her degree in Poultry Science from the University of Arkansas in 2013 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2017. She has one cat, named Jinx, who enjoys reminding everyone that she runs the house. She also has a horse, Skeeter. She enjoys hiking, hunting and reading books in her spare time.
Sandy Walker, Receptionist. Sandy loves to greet our clients and their pets. A lifelong resident of Pea Ridge, Sandy joined our team at Oak View Animal Clinic in 1999. She and her husband Franklin live on a farm where they raise beef cattle and have a pet donkey. Sandy and Franklin have 3 grown children who also live in Northwest Arkansas and they enjoy their grandchildren. Sandy retired as a Girl Scout Leader after 28 years in 2008.
Sara Martfeld, Veterinary Assistant. Sara is a lifelong resident of northwest Arkansas and has lived in Pea Ridge with her husband, Chris, since 1987. Sara joined the Oak View Animal Clinic family in June 1995. She enjoys working with our clients in the reception area as well as caring for our patients and assisting our doctors in the exam rooms, barn, and hospital. Sara and Chris share their home with Gary, a grey and white kitty, Little Bird, a cockatiel, Pugsley, a Chinese Pug and Biscuit, an orange tabby kitty. They have four adult children, nine grandchildren, and eight “grand-pets.” Sara enjoys spending time with her large extended family, reading, and observing nature.
Courtney Clark, Veterinary Assistant. Courtney was born and raised in Garfield, Arkansas and is currently residing in Anderson, Missouri. She graduated in May of 2018 with an Associate of Applied Science and Veterinary Technology Degree. Courtney has been a part of the Oak View Animal Clinic family since May of 2015. She is learning and growing every day. She also has a houseful of furry creatures, 2 beagle mixes named Bruce and Cooper, 2 crazy cats named Timber and Mr. Kitty, 2 pigs named Pearl and Charlotte as well as, 4 goats, 3 turkeys, 6 ducks and 15 chickens. Courtney loves all animals and truly enjoys the path she has chosen.
Kenna Greene, Animal Care Assistant. Kenna is very proud of her hometown "Pea Ridge, Arkansas" where she was born and raised. She loves getting to wake up early, come to the clinic and care for all the animals. When she's not taking care of all the critters at the clinic, she enjoys playing with her puppy, Huck, a chocolate lab. She also enjoys being outdoors with her friends and family.
Makenna Higgins, Animal Care Assistant. Makenna was born and raised in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. She is presently attending Pea Ridge High School. She plans on pursuing her dream of becoming a Veterinarian Technician by attending college in 2018 and graduating with a Bachelor's Degree. As an employee, of Oak View Animal Clinic, Makenna enjoys the time she gets to spend with all of our clients pets.
Iseabelle Gregg, Animal Care Assistant. Iseabelle received a BA in Biology from Wells College in 2014. She has 3 years of animal care experience as a Veterinary Assistant in the Greater Rochester, New York Area and has just recently moved to NWA from western New York in 2017. She has owned and cared for animals nearly all her life, an there is no place she would rather be than helping our clients and their pets receive the best care possible.
