Dr. Karen Sherman; Owner of Oak View Animal Clinic. Dr. Sherman was raised in Pineville, MO and received her Animal Science Degree at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine. She has lived in Pea Ridge since 1990 and has a Great Dane named Shadee, an Irish Wolfhound named Lenny, a cat named P.M. and beef cattle. Along with managing the business, Dr. Sherman is active in many local organizations, veterinary organizations, and serves on the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association Board. Her hobbies include swimming, walking her dogs, and helping people with personal needs.
Dr. Brandi Whittemore; Full time staff Veterinarian. Dr. Brandi was raised on a small farm, in Clifty, AR, with beef cattle and horses. She earned her degree in Poultry Science from the University of Arkansas in 2013 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2017. She has one cat, named Jinx, who enjoys reminding everyone that she runs the house. She also has a horse, Skeeter. She enjoys hiking, hunting and reading books in her spare time.
Shae Colton; Practice Manager. Shae recently relocated to NWA from central Oklahoma. She lives in Pea Ridge, AR with her partner Chloe and two children McCamey and Kodie. Shae was raised on a 200 year old homestead/cattle farm. She has over 20 years experience in health/veterinary management, customer service direction, telecommunications, and emergency communications. Shae has two dogs Gus (red Pomeranian) and Silla (Siberian Husky), and two cats Gypsy (long hair torti) and Buckingham (grey tabby). She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the lake, hiking, jewelry making and karaoke.
June Sherman, Receptionist. June is the mother of Dr. Karen Sherman. She resides in Anderson, MO on a farm where she and her husband, Clyde Sherman, raise beef cattle. June has one dog, one cat and several chickens. A retired caseworker at McDonald County Family Services she has worked at Oak View Animal Clinic since its establishment in 1992.
Sandy Walker, Receptionist. Sandy loves to greet our clients and their pets. A lifelong resident of Pea Ridge, Sandy joined our team at Oak View Animal Clinic in 1999. She and her husband Franklin live on a farm where they raise beef cattle and have a pet donkey. Sandy and Franklin have 3 grown children who also live in Northwest Arkansas and they enjoy their grandchildren. Sandy retired as a Girl Scout Leader after 28 years in 2008.
Sara Martfeld, Veterinary Assistant. Sara is a lifelong resident of northwest Arkansas and has lived in Pea Ridge with her husband, Chris, since 1987. Sara joined the Oak View Animal Clinic family in June 1995. She enjoys working with our clients in the reception area as well as caring for our patients and assisting our doctors in the exam rooms, barn, and hospital. Sara and Chris share their home with Gary, a grey and white kitty, Little Bird, a cockatiel, Pugsley, a Chinese Pug and Biscuit, an orange tabby kitty. They have four adult children, nine grandchildren, and eight “grand-pets.” Sara enjoys spending time with her large extended family, reading, and observing nature.
Tausha Crawford, Receptionist. Tausha was born in Fort Stockton, Texas and moved to southwest Missouri in 1986. She attended McDonald county schools from Kindergarten through Senior High. After graduating she moved to Magnolia, AR to attend Southern Arkansas University. While in Magnolia she met the man who would become her husband. She has been married to Joshua Crawford for 14 years. They have 2 very active boys, Zachary and Jona, that keep them on their toes at all times. They also have 3 dogs as part of their family; Thor, a chocolate lab and Lincoln, a great dane mix. They have a cat named Sadie too. Tausha joined the Oak View Animal Clinic staff in 2014. She loves greeting our clients and helping out in other areas of the clinic when needed.
Courtney Clark, Veterinary Assistant. Courtney was born and raised in Garfield, Arkansas and is currently residing in Anderson, Missouri. She is attending Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri as a student in the Veterinary Technician program. She is planning to graduate in May of 2018 with an Associate of Applied Science and Veterinary Technology Degree. Courtney has been a part of the Oak View Animal Clinic family since May of 2015. She is learning and growing every day. She also has a houseful of furry creatures, 2 beagle mixes named Bruce and Cooper, 2 crazy cats named Timber and Mr. Kitty, 2 pigs named Pearl and Charlotte as well as, 4 goats, 3 turkeys, 6 ducks and 15 chickens. Courtney loves all animals and truly enjoys the path she has chosen.
Kenna Greene, Animal Care Assistant. Kenna is very proud of her hometown "Pea Ridge, Arkansas" where she was born and raised. She loves getting to wake up early, come to the clinic and care for all the animals. When she's not taking care of all the critters at the clinic, she enjoys playing with her puppy, Huck, a chocolate lab. She also enjoys being outdoors with her friends and family.
Makenna Higgins, Animal Care Assistant. Makenna was born and raised in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. She is presently attending Pea Ridge High School. She plans on pursuing her dream of becoming a Veterinarian Technician by attending college in 2018 and graduating with a Bachelor's Degree. As an employee, of Oak View Animal Clinic, Makenna enjoys the time she gets to spend with all of our clients pets.
Heather Stills, Certified Pet Stylist. Heather has been a resident of Garfield, Arkansas for 14 years. She is a wife to, Keith Stills. She is a mother to 2 children, 2 cats (Mustache & Frack), 3 dogs (Marley, Etsy & Bailey). She has been a Certified Pet Stylist for 8 years and is now furthering her passion for animal care beyond being a stylist. Her interest outside of the clinic include; dirt track racing, fishing, cheering for her kids at any event and singing.
Iseabelle Gregg, Animal Care Assistant. Iseabelle received a BA in Biology from Wells College in 2014. She has 3 years of animal care experience as a Veterinary Assistant in the Greater Rochester, New York Area and has just recently moved to NWA from western New York in 2017. She has owned and cared for animals nearly all her life, an there is no place she would rather be than helping our clients and their pets receive the best care possible.
